Boost your Winter Glow with Sunekos

While there’s lots to love about winter; your child’s first nativity, gorging on mince pies and the never ending hope of snow, there’s no denying it can wreck havoc on our skin.

During winter, the sudden drop in temperature combined with our increased thermostats can dehydrate and inflame our skin, damaging the skin barrier and accelerating skin ageing. Which is why, many experts, recommend switching up your skincare routine in winter.

Sunekos Skin Boosters, an in-clinic injectable skin boosting treatment, can work alongside your at-home regime to counter these changes and protect the skin’s natural protective barrier .

Keen to find out more, we stopped by London’s recently opened Ambra Clinic, to try the Sunekos Skin Boosters for ourselves.

WHERE

The love project of Dr. Maryam McMillan, an experience dental surgeon with over 15 years in the medical fields, the Ambra Clinic resides in the heart of residential North Finchley.

Offering some of the most sought after treatments on the market including Judy Murray’s Morpheous 8 and the infamous Vampire Facial, this independent clinic specialising in facial aesthetics, is ideally placed for those in North London and further afield.

THE DETAILS

Sunekos skin boosters are an injectable skin treatment designed to boost hydration in the skin, thanks to their potent blend of amino acids and hyaluronic acid aid. Improving conditions such as dry skin, sun damage, skin firmness, lines and wrinkles, for a more youthful and vibrant appearance, they are also used to improve the appearance of dark circles and acne scaring.

Creating an instant glow and plumpness to the skin, Sunekos skin boosters have a progressive effect, gradually increasing the levels of collagen and elastin for results that continue to improve over time. Working with the body’s naturally occurring substances to encourage the replenishment of the underlying structure of the skin,  it is this increase in collagen and elastin that results in a firmer and more lifted appearance.

For optimum results, Dr. Maryam McMillan recommends a course of up to 4 treatments per area, with top-ups performed every four to six months.

THE DOWN TIME

Down time is minimal. Some redness to the skin immediately after, possibly some itching and tightness. As with any injectable treatment, there is always a chance of bruising in the injected area however this can usually be disguised with the application of some makeup and should disappear within a week or so.

If you’re put off by the thought of the needle, don’t be. An experienced injector Dr. McMillan only uses the the finest of needles, ensuring the procedure is as safe and comfortable as possible.  For those that are particularly sensitive, Dr. McMillan provides the option of topical anaesthetic.
