Goodbye Stress: How To End Every Day Feeling More Relaxed

We often spend the majority of our days stressed and overwhelmed, being pushed and pulled from one place to another because of how frantic our lives can be.

It can feel impossible to get a moment to ourselves and when we do it can be tricky to know what to do with that time. Below are some ideas of how to best end your day feeling more relaxed.

Enjoy A Long Bath

There’s nothing better to look forward to when coming home from a stressful day of work than running yourself a hot bath. The warmth can help to relax tense muscles and bring calmness to your mind. The bath is a great place to escape everyday stresses. Lock the door and no-one can disturb your tranquility - it's the most peaceful escape.

You can even mix things up by adding different bubble baths or fizzing bath bombs to make it smell more luxurious. You could also try using some epsom salts or essential oils for added soothing effects.

Take A CBD Gummy Before Bed

It can be harder to relax before bed sometimes - you can have a lot of worries rushing around in your head. Sometimes we need a little bit of help to relax and be able to get a full night of sleep. Things like supplements are there to help us ease stress. Taking a CBD gummy before bed can help reduce your anxiety and improve the quality of your sleep. CBD could provide many benefits like enhanced sleep, improved focus and increased overall relaxation, making it perfect for ending the day with.

Try Meditation & Deep Breathing

Breathing exercises and meditation can be incredibly useful for improving how well you sleep and how relaxed you can feel before bed. Taking a quiet moment for yourself can be really powerful on our bodies. Practising meditation can help to encourage slower breathing and lower our heart rates, which in turn makes getting to sleep a lot easier.

Meditation and deep breathing can also be beneficial for your mental health. By focusing on your breathing, you are enabling your brain to shift its attention off whatever was stressing you from earlier in the day - reducing anxiety and leaving you in a more relaxed state.

Put Down The Phone

Mentally, having a phone around us at all times can feel pretty stressful, even if we don’t fully realise it, as we’re now so accustomed to it. Especially if you rely on your phone for work, using it in the bedroom before going to sleep can stop you from relaxing and getting some decent sleep.

Putting the phone away before bed is also good for our physical health. Blue light that's emitted from phones can mess with your body's melatonin production, which makes us feel sleepy, and can make it more difficult for your brain to switch off and get good sleep.

Reducing how stressed we are after long days of work can feel impossible. However, when we find those precious minutes in the evening to focus on ourselves, we must find effective ways to unwind and destress. Try some of the tips above to help you end the day more relaxed and hopefully get a better night's sleep.
