While bringing your reusable water bottle to the gym may now be second nature and you’ve pledged to ditch the single use coffee cup for your post workout pick-me-up (no KeepCup, no coffee!), chances are you’ve not given a second thought about the impact your activewear is having on the planet.

Yet as our activewear obsession continues to grow, as does its effects on our landfills and oceans. What many of us don’t realise is that it doesn’t have to be this way. Fitnesswear, activewear, sportswear, what ever you want to call it, is actually one of the industries leading pack in terms of sustainable design with companies like sports wear giant Adidas helping to make ‘sustainable’ cool, with the launch of the first shoe in the world to be made from plastic waste from the ocean.

But while more and more brands are beginning to grow a conscience, it’s us, the activewear obsessive’s that can really make a difference to our planet, by simply choosing to purchase items that are sustainable, and where possible made from recycled materials.

We’ve chosen some of tour favourite activewear brands that won’t only make you want to work out just so you have an excuse to wear them but are doing their bit for the planet too.
